Braking news..!!!

After effects CS6 CUDA hack!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As of 4-25-2011 nvidia 480GTX is not supported in After effects CS6!!!!

So………….. Hack it!!!

follow his tutorial but……………………. mod this ..!!!

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\raytracer_supported_cards.txt

open it in notpad and add your 8800gtx or newer card with cuda support!!

example: your page will look like this.. just your your cuda card!! “480 and 680 was added by me”
it should work!!

i thank the person who posted this for info!! With out his info this was not possible!!!

I have a PNY GTX 560 with an Intel core i5 2500k OC @3.8GHz with 8Gb of RAM, and export time was divided by three !
A video @1920*1080@29.97fps of 4 minutes takes about 15 minutes to encode without the GPU, while it takes only 4 minutes with it !

I just enabled on high performance Alienware m17x laptop with quadcore i7 2860QM and Nvidia Gefore GTX 580M. Hardware is now enabled. Thanks NOTE: You guys make sure you spell Geforce as GeForce or it will not work, Your card name has to match the card detected name exactly from GPUsniffer app.

@Drew Run the gpusniffer.exe (it is in Premiere's directory) and read if your vga is cuda compatible and meets the minimum requirements of gpu processing power for Hardware Acceleration... if it does then you haven't follow exactly the procedure I described in my article, please check the .txt for mistype error

Disable Hardware acceleration and import a video clip. Does the system crashes? Then it is something wrong with premiere instalation.
If Premiere crashes only in Hardware Acceleration mode then I think it is a driver issue. Update the nvidia driver or downgrade it if you have the latest one. Please reply with results.

Update for GeForce GT 335M in Alienware M11x with 8GB RAM and 240 GB OCZ SSD: Adobe Premiere Pro opened, but it crashed as soon as I selected a video clip. I tried it with several different video clips and it continued to crash. Any suggestions.

I still very much appreciate the hack

Parhelion: Sounds like you may have old, bad drivers installed. Download the latest GTX 560 drivers from NVIDIA’s website, and see if that does not fix your problem. See: http://www.geforce.com/Drivers

If your card is a counterfeit, and not really genuine, that could also be a problem. What brand is it?

GTX 460 1 gb, worked! Not completely realtime if heavy effects, but much faster definitely! And I just hate nvidia for what they do with pushing quadros…

If the option to choose hardware acceleration is enabled (and not greyed) then this method worked.
